From @HenryDevas: How does a writer book Daniel Bryan going forward to satisfy both fans AND conform to McMahon/HHH's wishes?
The perceived McMahon/HHH wishes are to keep Bryan out of the title picture so that Roman Reigns and others can "look strong" without Bryan there to steal the chants away. The best way to satisfy people is to tell compelling stories. It sounds easy, but it's not. An ideal storyline for Bryan post WrestleMania is a feud with Brock Lesnar leading to WrestleMania. Think about it post WrestleMania. Lesnar's on Raw with new WWE Champion Roman Reigns, Bryan comes out to say he wants a title shot and Lesnar attacks Bryan mercifully. They can do some injury angle with Bryan where he's out for a few weeks, comes back, has concussion symptoms and so on. Let the time pass until July, then Lesnar comes back to set up SummerSlam and we get to see that as a dream match for that show. No titles on the line. Just the biggest heel against the underdog face. The only way for the above idea to happen is if Lesnar re-signs with WWE and stays around past WrestleMania, which is no guarantee at this point. It's all about matching him up with the right opponents. Going back to a feud with Bray Wyatt could work. If a guy like Dean Ambrose turned heel they could go with that too. The Seth Rollins feud is a no brainer because it would be amazing. It can be done if they plan it out well.
