From @DaveTheAwesome: Most Superstars of the past didn't stay in a character more than 3-5 years. How long until John Cena becomes legit stale?
Some might say he already is! He's been getting booed by a good portion of the crowd since about 2006, so it's not like we should pretend he's some beloved face. Others will point to the fact that he's still the biggest draw on house shows, still doing the best merchandise numbers and still What's most likely with him is he'll never change too much. He can still rock those sneakers, the jean shorts and the t-shirts that change every three months because he likes rocking different colors. A lot of wrestlers change after a long period of time such as a Hulk Hogan when he turned heel in 1996, but Cena's not going to be doing that. A heel turn is probably not happening. He's going to be the babyface that gets booed by some and is the role model for so many others. Give WWE a bit of credit for lowering Cena's status by putting him in the US Title picture. They've even referred to him as the "old man" a few times, so they're going to try to paint him as a living legend that is still trying to hang on, but maybe he won't be in the WWE Title picture anymore. That's probably all the tweaking he's going to do. Thanks for all the questions for the Q&A this week. Enjoy WrestleMania week. There's plenty of great material coming up here on WhatCulture.
