From @ShaySmithers: Since Alex Riley seems to be getting a new in-ring focus in NXT, would you say he still could have a chance to be successful?
He definitely has a shot because he's an above average talker, is a relatively big guy and really has a passion for what he does. His promos in NXT have been great. His two matches haven't been special in part because the one against CJ Parker was short and he mostly got his ass kicked against Kevin Owens. What WWE needs to do is keep throwing him out there. What WWE should consider is putting him in a tag team or some sort of alliance with Jack Swagger. Whether they are the "Real Americans" with Zeb Colter as their manager or just a couple of athletic big guys in a tag team, they seem like a potentially good team. Whether they are heels or faces they could probably do well together. Riley turns 34 years old, so WWE may be hesitant to re-invest time in a guy at that age when they have so many other people especially at NXT that are better talents and also in their early 30s. It won't be easy for him to climb the ladder in 2015 because the roster is better than it was in 2011 when he got a lot more screen time, but if a guy really wants it and has the talent then he should be given a chance to succeed.
