5. PG Rating Changing Wrestling

From @liver_shubair: I was listening to Batista on Talk is Jericho. Do you agree with him that PG changed the whole wrestling concept or most of it??
It's one of those things where there's probably some legitimacy to what Batista is saying because he's a guy that knows the business, been at the top for a long time and has expressed his frustration with WWE due to the PG rating. However, that doesn't mean that it has to change wrestling or that it ruined the business. What the PG rating does is it limits what they can and can't do sometimes. If guys are out there using more aggressive language it certainly helps because it makes the show cool. The days of blood are probably never coming back for health reasons, which is also the reason why we won't get chair shots to the head back. Those things are fine. It's better to think about the welfare of the wrestlers. The PG rating has changed things, but it's also not the reason why WWE's product is down. That's the lack of creativity and an inability to create a lot of new stars. There's definitely some validity to Batista's point. It's just that there's more to it than that as well.
