10 WWE Questions You Most Want Answered (Oct 20)
1. Was The Six-Man Tag At BOLA Match Of The Year So Far?
This question isn't strictly about WWE, but I can't resist discussing Match of the Year contenders. Personally I don't think the six-man at BOLA is MOTY as, despite its jaw-dropping spots, it didn't tell as strong a story as some of 2016's other standout bouts. The same can be said for NXT's Zayn vs. Nakamura; as fantastic a match as it was, it didn't have a truly emotive storyline backing it up.
My vote has to go to one of Wrestle Kingdom 10's two headliners: Styles vs. Nakamura, or Okada vs. Tanahashi. I'm tempted to give it to the latter, which capped an unbelievable angle between the two, and had so many layers to consider: the gradual, reluctant passing of the company torch; the refusal of Okada to let go of his opponent after just one finisher; their previous encounter which the younger man lost (and cried after).
Nakamura vs. Styles was also brilliant, and while I don't think it quite eclipses Tanahashi and Okada's masterpiece, I'd love to see a WWE rematch in the relatively near future.
