9. Is It Selfish Of Triple H To Keep Booking Himself In WrestleMania Main Events?

Thanks to Kyle Foxton €@kfox9611 for the question. Certainly the year Triple H was booked to defeat Brock Lesnar in the co-main event of WrestleMania 29, that was one of the dumbest booking decisions of this decade. It was selfishness on Hunter's part, he wanted to work with the biggest star. But keep in mind as well, that was a match Vince McMahon wanted to see. It isn't like Hunter just calls all his own shots. At Mania 30 with Daniel Bryan, it sort of happened again, as he worked with the hottest star of that period. But the story did make sense, he put Bryan over, and it was a fantastic match. At Mania 31, it felt like the same old story, Hunter got to play with the new toy. However, there were genuine concerns that Undertaker versus Sting wouldn't have worked due to both men being old and worn down. As a substitute, the Hunter match did make sense. The result, however, was ridiculous. This coming year, it looks likely we'll be getting Triple H versus The Rock. At first glance, it does look like a selfish Hunter positioning himself in the main event of the biggest show of all time and against the biggest star of all time. But there is actually a lot of business sense behind this one. It is putting together two stars of the Attitude Era and is designed to appeal to a wide fanbase. It has star power. So, yes, he has been selfish in the past, but he is a legitimate star and has main event value.
