Andrade Almas defeated Tye Dillinger - NXT - 9th June 2016

With his Royal Rumble appearance, and clear pop, many fans could be forgiven for thinking WWE had big plans for Tye Dillinger. However, as wrestling bookers are wont to do, they tired of their new toy and moved on, sending Dillinger to mid-card purgatory.

One of the highlights of Spears' time in WWE was putting over future NXT Champion Andrade over in his television debut. In putting Dillinger away in shy of six minutes, Andrade started dominant. And even added the "cein" (Spanish for "100") to his ring name in response to Dillinger's "perfect ten." Though Dillinger tried to cheat to get his win back, Andrade left him looking up at the arena lights again in an NXT weekly main event.

While Andrade comes with an impressive WWE (and pre-WWE) résumé, Spears is someone who the WWE machine never quite found a way to milk. When their paths briefly crossed they showed promise, rejuvenated since they last faced off in the squared circle, Andrade and Spears have the potential to give the AEW faithful a barn burner of a feud.
