10 WWE Rematches We Can’t Wait To See In AEW
7. Paul Wight Vs. Miro
WWE Record:
Big Show defeats Rusev (DQ) - SmackDown - 23th September 2014
Rusev defeats Big Show (DQ) - Raw - 13th October 2014
Rusev defeats Big Show - Hell in a Cell 2014 - 26th October 2014
Big Show defeats Rusev - Fastlane 2017 - 5th March 2017
The Big Show and the former-Rusev's first face-off was naturally a main event. Big Show was an established monster in the squared circle and "The Bulgarian Brute" was well on his way to joining Wight in that category.
Following a distraction from Lana, Rusev nailed Big Show with a Russian flag triggering a disqualification. He still received a KO Punch for the foolishness. However, the Russian flag would overshadow their feud. During 29th September 2014 edition of Raw, Big Show ripped down the giant Russian flag that his opponent used during his entrance. WWE were forced to issue an apology for the nationalistic stunt.
Rusev restored honour to his kayfabe home nation at Hell in a Cell making "The World's Largest Athlete" submit. Big Show, as a mystery opponent, would get back his win after surprising "The Bulgarian Brute" at Fastlane 2017.
If the man who took on Paul Wight was a monster in the making, Miro is the final evolution. Fans deserve this rematch that packs potential to elevate Miro even further.
