10 WWE Returns That Must Happen In 2024

3. Pat McAfee

Pat McAfee's last WWE appearance came as a friendly sidekick to The Rock, but the mere fact that he was cast as somebody hanging out with 'The Great One' was a telling reminder of his standing way, way beyond the regular rank and file.

An in-demand figure in just about any role they can secure him for, McAfee could start a feud from commentary, ignite a rivalry as he almost did in the Theory standoff on SmackDown, or talk himself into trouble from his own show. In that and every respect, he's one of the easiest picks and the organisation aren't afraid to go big and/or daft with him.

His WrestleMania record alone is frankly bananas - Austin Theory, Vince McMahon and The Miz might be one of the ugliest 'Show Of Shows' CVs around, but his athleticism and in-buildt charisma have made him one of the more sought out celebrity guests for the Premium Live Events. It seems naive to assume he won't giddily skip his way back down to the squared circle to live his dream all over again.
