10 WWE Returns That Nobody Asked For (Which Ended Up Being Awesome)
9. MVP (2020)
With much of the buzz coming into the 2020 Royal Rumble event rightly being centred around the potential return of Edge, Montel Vontavious Porter's unexpected appearance largely went under the radar (though this was likely down to the briefness of his appearance thanks to a raging Brock Lesnar).
Then, when MVP appeared on Raw the next night, most weren't overly upset when the star announced that he'd chosen to retire from the company soon after his defeat to Rey Mysterio on the show.
However, in the wake of this in-ring WWE "retirement", MVP would appear a few more times, bringing back his VIP Lounge talk-show. He then remarkably announced that he'd been brought on as a backstage WWE producer, though he would still be used as an on-screen performer too.
Eventually, his untouchable presence on-screen and excellence on the mic soon led to him dropping his backstage responsibilities, focusing more on spearheading WWE's newest top faction, The Hurt Business, instead.
Though few were clamouring for the former United States Champion to return at the start of 2020, most would agree that he's been one of the company's very own MVPs throughout it.
