10 WWE Returns That Nobody Asked For (Which Ended Up Being Awesome)

8. Goldberg (2019)

Had Goldberg decided to ride off into the sunset once his electric monster mash with Brock Lesnar had reached its conclusion at WrestleMania 33, his career would've probably ended on the highest of high notes.

Yet, as we all know, money talks and it wasn't long before "Da Man" was back for another piece of Da Pie. Sadly, his 2019 return against The Undertaker at Super Showdown in Saudi Arabia resulted in one of the worst matches on either man's resume.

So, by the time that year's SummerSlam rolled around, a grand total of zero people wanted to witness old Bill putting himself and his colleagues in danger again. But, Goldberg seemed determined to make-up for his Saudi mistakes and set about absolutely pulverising Dolph Ziggler in their less-than-two-minute thrill-ride.

This was exactly what fans wanted from their former WCW World Heavyweight Champion. Get in, obliterate a star who won't be damaged because of it (in more ways than one), and get out.

Because all good things are destined to come to an end in WWE, though, Goldberg would later conquer "The Fiend" at the following year's Super Showdown. But, for a brief spell, it appeared Vince McMahon had finally found the perfect spot for the spear-wielding wrecking ball.
