10 WWE Returns That Were Completely Wasted

9. Mustafa Ali

For the longest time it looked like Mustafa Ali was about to be revealed as Friday Night SmackDown's mysterious hacker, a character who had terrorised the roster for months on end with various glitches and snippets of video footage. However, once Ali was surprisingly moved over to Raw in June of this year, the hacker gimmick was reportedly scrapped.

So, what would the red brand have in store for the hugely likeable ex-police officer?

Things got off to a decent start when Ali was revealed as Ricochet and Cedric Alexander's surprise partner for a match against the Hurt Business (MVP, Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin) in July, with the team coming away with the victory.

In typical WWE fashion, however, it wasn't long before the returning Ali was on the losing side as he was forced to tap out by 'The Almighty' Lashley on the following edition of the red show.

After losing a 6-man rematch against the Hurt Business a week later, Ali was then suddenly taken off Raw and has spent most of his time battling against his peers on Main Event ever since.

Was it really worth waiting seven months to bring one of WWE's most underrated babyfaces back as nothing more than chum for your newest heel stable?

It's not too late to put him back in a hoodie and have him sieve through your security footage, Vince. Get it done and we'll forget this ever happened.
