10 WWE Romances You Totally Don't Remember

2. Kane & Terri Runnels

In keeping with how Vince McMahon considers what makes a winner in real life, Kane's brief fling with Terri Runnels came about because the company wanted him to appear as though he'd never had his sh*t more together.

Dalliances with Trish Stratus, AJ Lee and others over the years were all dropped into stories for the same reason. Unlike his troubled times with Tori and Lita, these fleeting moments of romance were to imply that 'The Big Red Machine' had other hot streaks in him beyond the ones that scarred his childhood mind (if not, as it turned out, his body).

His several-week love arc with Terri was his final bout of fortune in 2002 before Triple H brought it all screeching to a halt with the reveal of Katie Vick's diddled demise. This had been by design - 'The Game' had a feud with Kane he fancied winning through means cerebral rather than physical, and his opponent being full of beans and thankful for all the good things in his life wasn't exactly see that plan through.

Like everything else in his life, it became a cause of suffering rather than success - their tryst wasn't revisited following the feud.
