10 WWE Royal Rumble Eliminations That Infuriated Fans

10. Rob Van Dam & CM Punk (The Great Khali - 2007)

In the end, the 2007 Royal Rumble match was won by The Undertaker. This proved a popular result, but the bout wasn't without moments that fans clearly didn't want to see. One of the most notable happened when The Great Khali entered the fray at number 28. Instantly, the gargantuan man seized control of the match and fan response started dwindling when it became obvious what was about to happen next. Back in '07, WWE were still high on Khali and very interested in booking him as a main event level star. Sadly, this meant that several performers fans were actually excited by suffered as a result, including the likes of Rob Van Dam and CM Punk. Within a few seconds of one another, Van Dam and Punk were hurled from the ring to the floor by the slow-moving Indian giant. This was a real shame, because RVD had been booked strongly by the company previously. He had even been WWE Champion in 2006, but looked like a real jobber when he ran into Khali. Similarly, Punk was a rising star who fans were really getting into, but he was treated like an afterthought as soon as the 'Great' one waddled into the ring.
