10 WWE Royal Rumble Eliminations That Infuriated Fans

4. The Undertaker (Maven - 2002)

By 2002, The Undertaker had long since been considered a true legend in the World Wrestling Federation. Wins and losses didn't count quite as much for the man as they perhaps used to, because his aura would still remain strong regardless of the result. Even so, it was more than a little baffling to schedule Maven to get rid of him from the Royal Rumble match that January. Squaring off with The Hardy Boyz, who were stationed outside the ring, The Undertaker was met by a dropkick to the back from the Tough Enough winner. Tumbling out of the ring, 'Taker looked like he couldn't believe what he was seeing. Fans were similarly incredulous, unable to comprehend what had just happened. Maven, a fresh-faced rookie, had eliminated 'The Deadman'. What was going on? This was definitely the biggest moment of Maven's WWF/WWE career, but it didn't really lead to anything, except a couple of vicious beatdowns courtesy of Big Evil. Worse yet, Undertaker was playing a new heel character who craved respect, but he was made to look a bit foolish by taking his eye off the ball. Throwaway moments in Rumble matches are inevitable, but The Undertaker should never be booked in that position.
