For those that don't remember, Ricardo Rodriguez was, at one time, the personal ring announcer for former WWE and World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio. Rodriguez was brought in alongside Del Rio back in 2010 and, despite holding the title of personal ring announcer, acted as Alberto's lackey.

Ricardo had actually trained as a professional wrestler and previously competed under the name Chimaera, reporting to WWE's developmental territory and pre-cursor to NXT, Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) in 2010.

The association with Alberto Del Rio was a successful pairing and ultimately lead to Rodriguez, albeit briefly, getting another chance to wrestle.

Del Rio went on to win the first, and thus far only, 40-participant Royal Rumble match in 2011; Ricardo Rodriguez threw his hat into the ring the following year.

Ricardo was the number 8 entrant into the 2012 Royal Rumble and, with the help of Mick Foley, actually eliminated another participant (Justin Gabriel). Despite this elimination, Ricardo didn't last long as Santino Marella tossed the ring announcer from the match in just over 2 minutes.

Almost as quickly as he had arrived in the Royal Rumble, Ricardo Rodriguez was eliminated but nothing can take away his participation in WWE's most famous match.
