10 WWE Royal Rumble Statistics You Need To Know

9. Most Rumbles

The Royal Rumble is basically an all-hands-on-deck match. Because the Rumble requires 30 men and 30 women to fill out its ranks, a huge chunk of the roster continually adds an appearance to their tally annually. And when you factor in the surprise element of entries, even wrestlers who aren’t on the roster will drop in to pad their statistics.

As a result, Kane still holds the record for most Rumble appearances, with 20 entries under three different gimmicks (no, we’re not talking Corporate Kane, we’re talking about Fake Diesel and Isaac Yankem, DDS). Even if you back out the evil dentist and phony Big Daddy Cool, Glen Jacobs has appeared as Kane in 18 Rumbles, more than any other wrestler under one name.

The next closest wrestler is also the highest-ranking active WWE superstar, Kofi Kingston, who has logged 16 Rumbles. Kofi also has been the proverbial human highlight reel when it comes to saving himself from elimination, though that gimmick is likely dead and buried given New Day’s recent heel turn.

If Kofi does not enter this year’s Rumble, three active WWE wrestlers could tie him this year: The Miz, Randy Orton and Rey Mysterio, who all have 15 appearances. (Dolph Ziggler also is sitting at 15 Rumbles.)
