Every year, WWE announcers go to great pains to celebrate the accomplishments of a handful of wrestlers who spent a lengthy spell in the previous year’s Royal Rumble, regardless of whether they won or even eliminated anyone. They treat longevity as though it’s a huge milestone on its own, regardless of success or eliminations.

Through the years, 11 wrestlers have eclipsed one hour in the Royal Rumble (not counting the Greatest Royal Rumble), with Gunther setting the standard at the 2023 Rumble by logging 71:40 in a losing effort to Cody Rhodes. Bayley holds the women’s record with a winning 63-minute performance in 2024.

Cumulatively, Chris Jericho still holds the overall record with 4:59:33 spent in 11 Rumbles. (This total drops by three minutes when you back out the Greatest Royal Rumble, but he’s still at the top.) Randy Orton has logged about 4:23:10 in non-GRR Rumbles. Bianca Belair tops all women with 3:05:28 spent in the Rumble match.

Jericho’s record seemed insurmountable at one time, but given WWE’s penchant for having iron men and women in each Rumble these days (Belair reached her mark in only four Rumbles), it’s only a matter of time before these records fall.
