10 WWE Saudi Arabia Matches That Didn't Totally Suck
4. Kofi Kingston Vs Dolph Ziggler (Super ShowDown 2019)
Such is the quality of this particular card that a competently worked wrestling match with reasonable stakes (even if Ziggler was never going to win Kofi’s championship) can be a standout. Kingston vs Ziggler isn’t a brilliant bout by any means, but the two veterans are elevated here by the dross that mostly surrounds them.
It’s a fast paced and engaging enough clash with both guys in clearly defined roles that they work to the best of their ability. The embittered Ziggler attempts to punish his opponent with sharp, impactful offence; Kofi, reaching the end of his all too brief run as champion, runs through his babyface move set at pace, knowing one Trouble In Paradise outta nowhere could seal the deal.
The wrestlers work their socks off, putting on an impressively physical and energetic performance in spite of the oppressive heat. The crowd aren’t there for it in general, but for those watching at home, it’s clearly one of the finer moments of the evening.
