10 WWE Saudi Arabia Matches That Didn't Totally Suck

3. Finn Balor Vs Andrade (Super ShowDown 2019)

This is in theory a dream match between two superstars with plenty in common - experience all around the world, former NXT champions, often badly wasted on the main roster. And while the execution - in the punishing heat, in front of a disinterested crowd - was hardly conducive to a match of the quality we could have had, this is still a particularly solid Saudi encounter.

The Demon’s appearance is the one downside - Balor’s alter ego was basically wasted here as it barely got the crowd stirring until the very end. Even so, these two could hardly help but put on a fine match.

There’s plenty of chain and counter wrestling, with Andrade struggling to complete his Guerrero-referencing sequence of suplexes and Balor wriggling out of a slick looking sunset flip powerbomb on the outside. Both guys have deep arsenals and pull out a lot of tricks here.

The ending is pretty cool, too, with the performers demonstrating remarkable balance as they jostle for position on the turnbuckle before Balor hits a sweet DDT and the Coup de Grace for the win. The idea was evidently to show that Andrade could hang with Balor, and despite the underwhelming circumstances, that much is certainly clear.
