10 WWE Stars Destined To Be Remembered For One Storyline
3. Rikishi
This year saw Rikishi take his place in the Hall of Fame. While he may not seem the most obvious choice a career that saw him win multiple Tag Titles, the Intercontinental Title and pull off some sweet dance moves with Too Cool is better than most. Despite all of that, he is best remembered for being the man who ran down Stone Cold with a car.
A long-running storyline that saw the WWE Universe ponder who was behind this heinous act it all came to an end a year after the event when Rikishi admitted to doing it. Unfortunately, that made absolutely no sense. Even his justification that he did it for his cousin The Rock (so The Great One could become the fed's top star) wasn’t enough to get fans past this entirely illogical move.
WWE quickly realised the same and backtracked, introducing Triple H into the story and having him take credit for masterminding the whole thing, thus putting the heat on him. It was too late. The damage was done already and Rikishi’s career took the hit. His heel turn floundered, and he’ll always be remembered as the guy who 'did it for The Rock'.
