5. Kevin Owens
There are a number of NXT superstars who are deserved of a call up to the main roster but Owens has to be right up there with the favourites to receive a huge push in the coming months. When it comes to NXT most of the superstars are the same. They are smaller, in-ring tacticians with fantastic skill an undeniable star potential. Owens is a big, rugged a** kicker. That is what sets him apart from the rest. After building a global reputation on the independent scene, Owens, then known as Kevin Steen, was thrust straight into the main event picture on what is still unbelievably seen as WWE's developmental territory. This undeniably shows how much homework WWE did on him and how much they already trust him. He fits the bill like a glove. While others have been made to take time to get up to speed with the way their WWE wants its superstars to perform in the ring, Owens had one televised match before dismantling Sami Zayn for the championship. This fast track to the top, and his performances since shows he can shoulder the responsibility of being given a more prominent role and must mean a step up to the main roster is immanent. Like Adrian Neville on this list before him, Owens is needed more on Raw than he is on NXT.
