10 WWE Stars Who Made Bold Claims They Failed To Back Up

10. Brodus Clay Is The Fall Of Humanity

The man who is doomed to forever be remembered as the Funkasaurus, had the look and the size to be a very successful monster heel. That was certainly how we was introduced to the WWE Universe towards the end of 2011, with a series of vignettes. Brodus claimed he was the beginning, and the end, that he was the fall of humanity. Yeah that didn't work out so well. After weeks of vignettes, Brodus never arrived. His debut was pushed back several weeks, for unknown reasons. This was even acknowledged on TV. "Next week, definitely next week!" they said. It was speculated that Clay was scheduled to feud with John Morrison (or squash him, since Morrison was on his way out). Clay even sent threatening tweets to Morrison in an attempt to set up their match. Perhaps he was trying to take the initiative. Perhaps he wanted to get in WWEs good graces by capitalizing on their recent obsession with social media. Whatever the case, it seemed he had not been told to do this and when WWE found out, they cancelled his push because they believed he had spoiled future storylines. See what happens when you try to think too far ahead! When he finally debuted, he entered to Earnest The Cat Millers old theme, accompanied by dancers (Naomi and Cameron) and dressed up like the Godfather. It was the least terrifying debut for a monster and so began the era of the Funkasaurus. Amazingly though, he got over. Fans seemed to tolerate, even like the gimmick. He stuck with it for two years until he briefly turned heel for ... some reason. After destroying newcomer Xavier Woods, he returned to NXT where he lost to Adrian Neville in Neville's least memorable NXT Title defense. He was one of over a dozen superstars released earlier this Spring. The memory of his run, might raise a few smiles, but it will not be remembered as the fall of humanity. Only the fall of Brodus' dignity.

As a wrestling fan I've flown across the Atlantic for the last five years specifically to attend WrestleMania (28 and 30) as well as TNA, ROH, Evolve, Chikara and most recently PWG. I may have a problem! But if you're reading my work then you probably love wrestling too, so lets focus on that!
