10 WWE Stars Released In 2019

4. Tye Dillinger (Shawn Spears)

Signed: September 2013.

Left: February 2019.

What a difference 10 months can make to one man's happiness and pro wrestling career.

As Tye Dillinger in WWE, AEW's Shawn Spears was going nowhere. His one-note 'Perfect 10' gimmick was bland, he was being treated like this generation's Barry Horowitz and there were no signs things would get better. In All Elite, he has the legendary Tully Blanchard as his manager, more creative freedom and looks motivated.

Tye's last WWE matches were non-televised losses to EC3 and Shelton Benjamin. His first AEW singles showing was a newsworthy 17-minute loss to Cody at All Out. That speaks volumes about how his career has turned around since escaping his house show hell.
