10 WWE Stars Undertaker Succeeded In Elevating To The Next Level

8. Batista

It took a long time for Batista to be comfortable in long and competitive matches. After all, he began his professional wrestling career much later than most and he had a very heavy frame that limited his physical abilities. Despite winning the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 21 and becoming arguably SmackDown€™s biggest draw shortly thereafter, it wasn€™t until he began a lengthy feud with the Undertaker that his match quality improved. If you look back at Batista€™s tenure as World Champion and his feuds in 2005 and 2006, he wasn€™t doing that well. Sure he was a popular draw and people loved to watch him demolish people, but it wasn€™t until he wrestled the Undertaker at WrestleMania 23 and again several times afterwards that Batista showed more athleticism and conditioning. Because the Undertaker was the big man, Batista had to deal with new expectations: if Undertaker could move around so gracefully in the ring and do so many different things, it was expected that Batista would, at least, try and keep up. The result of this feud was that Batista looked like a better-rounded athlete (instead of a one-trick pony that only executed power moves), he had better chemistry with other wrestlers, his overall match quality improved, and Batista had some of the best matches of his career with the Undertaker.
