10 WWE Stars Who Were Unrecognizable From Their Early Days
10. One Man Gang - Akeem The African Dream
The One Man Gang started in WWE in 1987 and he was managed by Slick. Gang was one of the biggest wrestlers ever since he was billed at 6'9" and 450 pounds although in wrestling we know things are always fabricated from time to time. He wore a black leather jacket to portray the idea that he was part of some gang from Chicago. It was a look he was able to pull off because of his size. Nobody wanted to mess with a guy like that. In September of 1988, he became Akeem "The African Dream" and was billed from "The Deepest Darkest Parts Of Africa" while wearing a bright yellow outfit. It was a stark contrast to what he looked like as the One Man Gang. The more intelligent fans could see who it was, but when we were kids we didn't always think about stuff like that. His WWE career didn't last that long since he was only there for about four years, but he was certainly memorable because of his look.
