10 WWE Stars Who Were Unrecognizable From Their Early Days

8. Prince Albert - Albert - A-Train - (Lord) Tensai - Sweet T

This is a complicated one because the big man with the bald head has gone through so many gimmicks in his career. He started out as Prince Albert in 1999, which is a term for genital piercing. Yeah that's right, they named a guy after genital piercing. He was brought in as the tattoo artist for Droz. It was a gimmick that really didn't last long. His name was shortened to just Albert as he became part of the T&A tag team with Test that was managed by Trish Stratus. When that tag team run ended, he was also known as the "Hip Hop Hoppo" Albert that danced with Scotty 2 Hotty. It was WWE's way of making him more fun after being a serious heel. In 2002 he became A-Train. It was another reboot for his character with the idea being that he was a serious heel again. You might recall that he teamed with Big Show to lose to The Undertaker (and Nathan Jones, sort of) at WrestleMania 19 in 2003. It was one of the most high profile moments of his career although it wasn't close to a main event level push. He left WWE in 2004. He worked in New Japan from 2005 to 2012 until a WWE return as Lord Tensai that spring. It was a completely different look for him since he had more tattoos on his upper body and even Japanese lettering on his face. Nobody looked like him. He received a good push immediately with wins over the likes of John Cena and CM Punk, but the gimmick didn't work. The "Lord" part was dropped as he became just Tensai. His last gimmick as an active wrestler was Sweet T as the tag team partner of Brodus Clay. Apparently WWE loved seeing him as a dancing fat man because they brought the gimmick back for him. After all those changes, hs retired from in-ring competition and he's found a home on NXT as a commentator named Jason Alberts.
