10 WWE Stars Who Are Horrendously Miscast
1. Malcolm Bivens
Is playing:
It's looking like was, past tense. After attacking Matt Riddle recently to stake a claim for the NXT Tag Team Championships, Malcolm Bivens' crew of Rinku and Saurav appear to have disappeared. The abysmal quality of said beatdown very much had a developmental feel to it, which is just as well. They're in the right place. Bivens is not; he doesn't suit the role of glorified heel translator doing intimidating things with his eyes because he's not intimidating. Bloody love lads doing stuff with their eyes down in NXT, don't they? Shawn Michaels probably read that this is a smart acting choice in a manual.
Should be playing:
There's a gag in Seinfeld in which George Costanza compares his irritating - but ultimately catchy - personality to a jingle. "Co-stanza." This accurately describes the essence of Malcolm Bivens: he is a short, stocky bald man who can play many a role through this idiosyncratic personality spectrum. He is also piss funny, the exact shape with which to fill NXT's patter void, and there are two immediate means of doing this that spring to mind. He could commentate, balancing out the incredibly convoluted intensity of Mauro Ranallo, or, better yet, solve NXT's directionless midcard, one-dimensional tone, and lack of episodic intrigue by recruiting a stable with which to challenge for the Tag and North American Titles.
