When Triple H announced that Tommaso Ciampa was already ahead of his rehabilitation schedule in June, panties moistened. Here was a guy that meant so much to so many in NXT and was on the cusp of hitting the main roster hard with sometimes pal/sometimes foe Johnny Gargano. Then, boom, serious neck injury.

Balls.

In that same happy announcement of progression, Triple H was careful to note that Ciampa shouldn't do anything until he was 100%. That's smart, and it could lead some to believe there's no chance he'll be on TV again before the end of the year. "No chance"? Don't kid yourself. This is Project Ciampa, and NXT needs him.

His old stomping grounds are about to hit the big time on USA Network on 18 September. It'd be cool to see the odds on a Tommaso comeback, if not as an in-ring wrestler then as an appointed general of current brand GM William Regal. That'd keep Ciampa around without putting pressure on him to work matches or even take bumps.
