5. Braun Strowman

How strange is it that Braun Strowman's first real period of main roster limbo has coincided with his first Universal Championship and a WrestleMania feud with a McMahon? Professional wrestling is a weird, weird world. Just a couple of years ago, the Monster Among Men was seemingly overachieving on the main roster but a number of confusing face and heel turns since have rendered him somewhat toothless.

The time for change is now. Braun Strowman has made a couple of minor changes in recent times, shaving his head and changing up his gear, but it all leads to the same Braun and the excitement has well and truly gone. Feuding with Bray Wyatt and Alexa Bliss all last summer certainly didn't help, but it isn't as if the fault lies only at the feet of those weirdos. Braun hasn't recovered from being dragged into the swamp by his former leader at last year's Horror Show at Extreme Rules.

Braun Strowman is at a crossroads, albeit a crossroads that sees him still hanging around the main event scene on RAW. Is he destined to become the modern Big Show, bouncing from face to heel and back again with no direction to speak of, or will a gimmick change freshen up the Monster Among Men once more?

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
