1. Drew McIntyre

When: Bad Blood

Opponent: CM Punk

Spit in the face of recency bias claims, 'cause this was one of the best Hell In A Cell wars ever.

Drew McIntyre vs. CM Punk hit the reset button on a gimmick match that sorely needed it after years of tepid scraps, red cages to sell toy sets, and annual pay-per-views for the sake of it. Their feud merited the fearsome Cell, and the the bell sounded to kick things off at Bad Blood. Somehow, Punk and Drew exceeded expectations.

Again, some will claim everyone's only getting excited because this happened recently. Screw that. Most wrestling fans know an outstanding match when they see one. We all watch enough of this stuff. Bell-to-bell, Punk vs. McIntyre was the most consistent HIAC match this generation.

Cody Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins, Edge vs. Finn Bálor, Becky Lynch vs. Sasha Banks, Sasha vs. Charlotte Flair - they've all been fun, but none of them could boast the personality of Bad Blood's showdown. It was probably the first bitter WWE rivalry that demanded the Cell since Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels.

That's arguable, but yeah. 2024 just witnessed one of the best cage matches of all time. It was also Drews' best match yet.
