10 WWE Stars Who Had Their Best Match EVER This Year

When: SummerSlam

Opponent: Rhea Ripley

Liv Morgan has Rhea to thank for her finest hour too.

Whilst it isn't fair to ignore some of Liv's best matches from the past (vs. Becky Lynch at Day 1 in 2022 was sweet), it is fair to say something else: Morgan has blossomed into a better all-rounder in 2024. She's finally comfy in her own skin as someone who can dominate heat sections without it seeming forced, for example.

That was the case at SummerSlam thanks to Ripley's stellar sell job on an injured arm/shoulder. Rhea's pained expressions and the constant menace of a soon-to-turn Dominik Mysterio around ringside gave Liv the platform to excel as a wicked witch sort who thrives when rivals are down on their luck.

This match had better pacing, story, stakes and action than anything else Liv has done throughout her WWE run. It washed away nightmare recollections of that dirge vs. Ronda Rousey too. Incredibly, one gets the feeling that there's still another 10/15% Morgan can give in the future.

Impressive stuff.
