In fairness, nobody would've enjoyed working with lumbering monster Giant Gonzalez back at WrestleMania IX. The Undertaker, due to his gimmick, very-much drew the short straw and had to try and carry the former El Gigante on his back to a passable showing.

It was mission impossible, and there was more misery to come when the WWF booked a rematch for SummerSlam 1993. At 'Mania, 'Taker did his able best, but he was up against it; his own slow-moving zombie characteristics hardly helped, but Gonzalez was absolutely awful between the ropes and totally incapable of meeting 'The Deadman' halfway.

Via his podcast, Bruce Prichard revealed that 'Taker hauled him aside backstage to ask why he'd been lumped with the Giant. His first two 'Mania showings had come vs. Jimmy Snuka and Jake Roberts, but now he was in the monster-slaying role and didn't like it.

There were more embarrassing days to come for the icon.
