2. R-Truth And Goldust

Many months of build up has led to mediocre tag matches and bad comedy. The moment R-Truth and Goldust appeared in their first backstage segment together, you knew it wasn’t going to work. However, briefly, for one night there was a little hope. When Breezeango beat Golden Truth, they seemed to hint that this was about two veterans showing they still had it, and could still hang with the youth movement. That could be an interesting story. But it was thrown away so they could do a sunburn slap match instead.

At this point in their careers, Truth and Goldust should get one last shot at being taken seriously. If it fails, then they can ride things out as comedy fodder until they’re ready to retire. Goldust has proven to be a compelling character in the past, and R-Truth can actually cut a really good heel promo when motivated.

With solo runs from the two, the company could get something out of it. With Golden Truth continuing on, it’s only going to turn off more viewers than it brings in.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
