10 WWE Stars Who MUST Be Thinking About Jumping Ship To AEW
Ricochet, Chad Gable, Aleister Black... who else is probably thinking of abandoning ship?
The promise of greener pastures is something that even the most loyal employee thinks of now and again.
No matter how good things are, it's impossible not to spend some time imagining how well your skills could be served elsewhere. This goes double if you're an underutilised talent, struggling to make a name for yourself despite the amount of skill and talent you have.
When All Elite Wrestling hit the scene, it did so with a promise that WWE would no longer dominate the market. This was an important change in the industry, as now, plenty of performers no longer have to wade through the toil of joining WWE to get a large platform and make a living.
There are many ways in which working for AEW seems more desirable, as the schedule is less demanding, the wrestlers have more freedom, and it seems to understand its performers well.
Plenty of people currently working for WWE appear to be having a terrible time, as the poor booking, misunderstanding of their characters and lack of faith from the higher-ups means they are being stifled. Therefore, they surely must be dying to jump off the WWE platform and run over to All Elite...
10. Cedric Alexander
Cedric Alexander's time in WWE has been a kaleidoscope of ups and downs. Here's a guy who started his WWE career in the best way possible by garnering a "Please sign Cedric" chant from the audience after his fantastic performance in the Cruiserweight Classic. Then he moved on to 205 Live and did respectably, with Cruiserweight Championship reign. But, in the end, as most promising upstarts do in WWE, he ended up losing direction.
After a while of tottering about in the Raw midcard, he would find new life under the umbrella of the Hurt Business, and it seemed like he was finally heading somewhere great. Then, as they are want to do, WWE spontaneously broke the group apart, and Cedric is now back to having no sense of direction.
It's got to be frustrating for Alexander, as his debut felt like the embers of a soon to be roaring fire, but he was pushed into a corner by creative. AEW must seem like a promised land for him, as he could get way more exposure and even the chance to wrestle against some amazing talent.
While his former tag partner Shelton Benjamin must be thinking the same, his tenure with the company likely means he's more used to it, whereas Cedric still has so much potential ahead of him.
