10 WWE Stars Who Only Worked One Televised Match
3. Jushin 'Thunder' Liger
As promised, it's a wrestling God.
It's incredible to think that the legendary Jushin 'Thunder' Liger only worked one solitary match for WWE in the modern era. Technically, he did work a WWF card in 1990 (as part of a co-promotion between WWF, All Japan and New Japan known as the Wrestling Summit), but would never make his way stateside for the company.
That's one thing WCW had over Vince McMahon - they bagged loads of Liger matches between 1991-1999. WWE would have to wait until 2015, and they'd only get one booking out of the former 11-time Junior Heavyweight Champion. That came against Tyler Breeze at the very first NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn.
Predictably, the near-nine minute exhibition wasn't Liger's best showing. It wasn't bad (at all), though he was always better in longer, drawn-out affairs. The atmosphere more than made up for any technical shortcomings though, and turned Liger's one-off WWE booking into a worthwhile pursuit.
