9. Sonya Deville

Sonya Deville is currently proving her worth as an on-screen personality and while she is killing it in a non-wrestling authority role, she is missed in the ring. Her run with Mandy Rose was enjoyable enough when logical teams were bereft in the women’s division, but many expected Deville to be the duo’s breakout star.

In storyline, Deville’s backstage role is a consequence of defeat to Rose in a Loser Leaves WWE match at SummerSlam 2020. However, her time away from in-ring competition was heavily influenced by a traumatic stalking incident, which cumulated in stalker Phillip A. Thomas breaking into her home armed with a knife and carrying zip ties.

This switch in roles has likely distanced Deville further from a title shot, though, it has done wonders for her character development and promo skills. Combined with her proven MMA background, this makes Deville a strong candidate for championship gold upon her return, even if it is long overdue.

In terms of main roster gold, Deville has had a single chance at the Raw Women’s Championship as one of six participants in the titular women’s match at Elimination Chamber 2018.
