10 WWE Stars Who Should NOT Go To AEW

8. Jeff Hardy

The only way Jeff Hardy ends up in AEW is if he is released by WWE. There we go, simple enough, onto the next name, right? Do you need more? Okay, fine.

Jeff Hardy may not have become the generation-defining babyface that he once threatened to become, but his fingerprints are all over the landscape of modern professional wrestling. Still, Jeff is better off cementing his WWE legacy and stripping back his schedule bit by bit, rather than heading to AEW to have middling matches with a variety of new opponents.

Jeff outside of WWE has never felt right. His various runs in TNA felt awkward and forced, hindered no end by personal demons and all the rest, and the prevailing feeling has always been that a long rope isn't good for the younger Hardy Boy. Crazy bumps are all good and well but can lead down some dark alleys.

If you take fantasy booking out of it all, Jeff Hardy and WWE are a pretty good fit for each other. Jeff has the opportunity to become a two-time Hall of Fame inductee one day, both as a singles star and alongside his brother Matt. There may be no more world titles in his future, but Jeff Hardy still brings plenty of name value to the promotion he finds himself in right now. There's no place like home, after all.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
