10 WWE Stars Who Should NOT Go To AEW

2. AJ Styles

Many might disagree with this selection, but what exactly has The Phenomenal One got to prove outside of WWE? Heck, he's got next to nothing to prove in WWE either. AJ Styles is one of the most decorated pro wrestlers on the planet and he deserves to ride out the rest of his career getting paid obscene amounts of money to hang out with Omos. What more could he want?

AJ Styles was the prototypical version of what AEW has become. For years he was regarded as the best American wrestler outside of the big company, destined to always look in from the outside because of his size and style. A career-reviving run in NJPW pro-wrestling changed that, but Styles has been even more of a success in WWE than most anticipated.

That is all good and well, but the point is more that he has nothing to prove outside of WWE anymore. If you want examples of AJ Styles putting on all-time classic matches, there are plenty you can go back and watch. Styles has put his body through the wringer over the years and the relatively more mundane style peddled by WWE performers will likely allow him to continue working for years yet. Sure, we'd all like to see him get his revenge on Kenny Omega, but it isn't going to make or break his career. AJ Styles is set for life.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
