10 WWE Stars Who Should NOT Go To AEW

3. The New Day

It is easy to forget just how flat the early days of The New Day were. Many revisionists will say that they were always into the trio but the first nine months or so of the group's existence brought silence and absolute apathy at best. Critics were lining up to lambast the group as a failure. Luckily for all involved, WWE resisted the urge to abandon ship.

The New Day has brought both Kofi Kingston and Big E. to WWE Championship status while making a credible threat out of Xavier Woods. They have been a merchandise-selling machine, selling shirts and cereals in equal measure. The group has set tag team records and redefined what it means to be a faction in modern-day WWE. Thanks to this idea that initially fell oh so flat, Kofi, Big E. and Woods are made men in the world of WWE.

There is no reason for any of the trio to move to AEW. None whatsoever, with the possible exception of 'playing video games', but what sort of reason is that? No reason. Kofi, E. and Woods are all set to spearhead the next generation of WWE superstars, and they won't be able to do that from AEW.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
