2. LA Knight

The true definition of an undeniable star in wrestling is when they connect so well with the audience, the company has to change their plans. Nobody could have predicted the rise of LA Knight in 2023, but it's certainly been one of the year's biggest highlights.

When indie veteran Eli Drake was finally brought into NXT during it's dying embers in 2021, there wasn't much fanfare. Some were happy that a hard working performer had been given a shot, but he hardly lit up the black and gold brand. In fact, he seemed a better fit for the outrageous 2.0 rebrand but was soon shuffled out and onto the main roster.

As Maxx Dupri.

Yup, an unnecessary rebrand in a gimmick that would never last. Apparently, Vince McMahon thought Knight's age (he's only 40 by the way) worked against him and wanted him as a mouth piece. Thankfully, Triple H rejuvenated the gimmick and the 'Megastar' has gone from strength to strength. YEAH!

Ironically, he was used as cannon fodder for the returning Bray Wyatt, but was the only one to emerge from their bizarre rivalry with more credit in the bank. The fans clocked on. While he might not be the most electrifying wrestler between the ropes, on the mic, the man just has it. The look. The promo. The attitude.

In less than a year, he has gone from being the manager of Maximum Male Models to the most over man in the company. How far can it take him? Who knows, but right now he's got everybody saying...

L...A...KNIGHT! YEAH!
