10 WWE Stars Who Would Be Nothing Without Their Props

8. Jake 'The Snake' Roberts' Snakes

We take you from a man pretending to wield a cobra, to a man who actually did wield a cobra.

Jake 'The Snake' Roberts.

How does a man manage to convince a company he has the capabilities to control a live snake in front of both a fellow professional and an unsuspecting audience?

Aurelian Jake Smith Jr. even confessed that he had a fear of snakes, which is baffling when you actually think about it. His entire character was based around the dark, intense creatures that he laid out over his fallen victims, incorporating their characteristics into his vocal delivery and attacks on his enemies.

Imagining Roberts without these terrifying assets would be approaching the unthinkable. Moments such as his hypnotic down-the-lens WrestleMania VI interview wouldn't have had the same effect, had it not been for the serpent over his shoulder and soulless look in his eyes.

No man has become so intrinsically linked with a living prop and (unless Randy Orton has a sudden change of heart) you're unlikely to see this sort of thing get this over again.
