10 WWE Stars Who Would Be Nothing Without Their Props
7. Edge's Money In The Bank Briefcase
Long before he was the most decorated WWE Superstar of all time (with 31 different title reigns) the Hall of Famer was known as something of a tag team specialist.
Along with his on screen 'brother' Christian, he managed to dominate a stacked division in the peak of the tag team carnage that was prevalent throughout the Attitude Era, before he eventually took the leap into individual competition.
Winning the King of the Ring in 2001 definitely put Edge on another level in terms of star power. He had the looks and could hold his own in the squared circle but he was missing something. After an inaugural win in the 2005 Money In The Bank Ladder Match at WrestleMania 21, it was clear what that something was.
A briefcase.
With this guaranteed World Championship shot, Edge degenerated into a predator of sorts, picking off the scraps and taking advantage of whatever he could to win. His pairing with off-screen love interest, Lita, only added to the newfound hatred of this opportunistic mastermind and gave WWE the new top heel they had been searching for.
If not for his multiple briefcases (pouncing on Mr. Kennedy's hubris in 2007 to claim his second) we wouldn't have been treated to his career defining feuds with John Cena in 2006 and The Undertaker in 2008, respectively.
There's another 'thank you' Chris Jericho should be expecting any day now.
