Welcome to, RAW! IS! JERICHO! Yeah, 1999 saw Chris Jericho make the jump to the World Wrestling Federation and interrupt The Rock on a Monday night in what has gone down as one of the most famous debuts in the history of professional wrestling. He didn't make his in-ring debut on RAW though.

That came on SmackDown, where he spent two weeks losing to Road Dogg and X-Pac before finally stepping between the ropes on RAW on September 13th 1999.

Even this match was more of an angle however, as he took on 'Gotch Gracie' in a steel cage (well, a 'Y2Jail') match. Gotch Gracie turned out to be Curtis Hughes, and the whole 'match' was a plan to lure Ken Shamrock out to the ring to get beaten down by Jericho and Hughes. Still, 'Chris Jericho d. Gotch Gracie via submission' stands in the record books.

Jericho is yet another to have competed this past Monday on RAW, defeating Apollo Crews in a Money in the Bank qualifying match.

Will he have seven more matches and make it to 400 before Fozzy goes on tour once more?

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
