10 WWE Stars You Won't Believe Never Headlined WrestleMania

10. Jeff Hardy

WWE.comWWE.comIt's hard to picture it now, but there was a period of time starting with the beginning of 2008 and leading right up to his release in 2009 where Jeff Hardy was a white hot babyface. Certainly at the start of 2008, he seemed a lock to win Money In The Bank, meaning he'd have possibly been the champion by the time the next Wrestlemania rolled around. History tells even the most casual wrestling fan that this significantly increased his chances of that headline match at the show of shows. We know the story with Jeff by now though: his own demons got in the way of what could have been the start of an ascent to the top of the pile. A Wellness Policy violation just before Wrestlemania in 2008 ensured that the WWE would change their minds and interestingly enough, the WWE would go with CM Punk instead, jump-starting his career. Hardy however, had shot himself in the foot, and it took him years to get over his various addictions, even after quitting WWE and heading over to TNA. The original human highlight reel never got his due in the biggest match of the year and it was his own personal problems that held him back.
