10 WWE Stars Who Were Worthless Intercontinental Champions

2. The Mountie

The Mountie always gets his man, but he doesn€™t always get a long lasting title reign. In fact he doesn€™t even get a normal title reign. The Mountie may have been Intercontinental Champion by defeating Bret Hart back in 1992, but he was only able to hold the gold for all of two days before losing it to Roddy Piper at the Royal Rumble. The loss gave The Mountie the shortest Intercontinental Championship reign in WWE history for many years. Mountie would later have a rematch for the title which he lost. He then found himself on the losing end of multiple tag matches throughout the year. Finally, a thirty second loss to Bret Hart for the WWE Championship was enough for The Mountie to get on his horse and ride off into the sunset. Eventually The Mountie would return as part of The Quebecers and win the Tag Team Championship three times. Then in 1994, Mountie had a retirement match and left WWE once again before heading to WCW in 1996.
