10 WWE Stories Everybody Got Wrong In 2017

6. Bringing Back Taboo Tuesday

The 'story': In July, we reported that WWE were exploring the possibility of reviving the crowd-booked Taboo Tuesday concept when it emerged that the company had renewed the trademark on the dormant PPV. Though 2017's schedule was already set in stone, murmurs began that the event, during which every match was voted for by the audience, would make its long-awaited comeback next October.

The reality: At the tail-end of November, WWE unveiled their PPV schedule for the next twelve months - and Taboo Tuesday was nowhere to be seen on the itinerary. Quite aside from adding a new name to the mix, the programme in fact dropped two events. Whilst the gaps in the calendar do leave the possibility open for Taboo Tuesday to be announced as a Network special somewhere down the line, the general belief is that WWE are cutting back on events having seen no financial return with their current super-serving model.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
