1. That Damned Lockbox

So Shane returned to WWE, guns ablaze, intent on wresting control of the company from his father. Vince gave Shane a relatively fair chance to do it, despite the fact that he was putting his company in jeopardy. Why?

In Shane McMahon's return promo, where he made his first Raw appearance in seven years and The Undertaker match was set, he made brief reference to a "lockbox." According to Shane, the contents of that lockbox alluded to information that could ruin Vince, and Shane would go public with it if not given the chance to run the company. It was a case of extortion, with Shane forcing Vince into granting him the bout.

As a result of The Undertaker's win, Vince got the lockbox and its contents, forever assuring that the information contained therein would be safe. As for what it was? Your guess is as good as mine.

Of course, there never was any "lockbox," and the whole thing was simply a McGuffin to advance the feud. For storyline purposes, however, it looks like this one is going to be explained the day after GTV.
