By the middle of 2016, it looked like both Titus O'Neal and Darren Young were on their way to babyface pushes. O'Neal was feuding with Rusev for the United States Championship, while Young had been repackaged with Bob Backlund as his manager.

After the Rusev-O'Neal feud ended, though, WWE torpedoed O'Neal's momentum with one of the worst heel turns ever. In a video shot for Facebook prior to Raw, O'Neal insulted Young backstage, leading to a match between the two on Raw.

That spun out into a feud between the former partners, with O'Neal attacking Young and Backlund often on Raw. Things ramped up after SummerSlam, and as September progressed, it looked like a match between the men would be signed for Clash of Champions. Instead, it was all dropped without any explanation.

Since then, both men have struggled for TV time and haven't had any other real feuds or storylines.
