10 WWE Storylines From 2017 That Will Never Be Resolved
6. Is Triple H Not Bothered About His Wife?
Nobody else is, to be fair, but he did marry her.
At WrestleMania 33, after a gruelling match, Seth Rollins struck Triple H with a Superkick. A dazed Trips made a beeline from the ropes, inadvertently knocking his missus off the apron and sending her crashing through a table. Now, this was sort of his own doing - but Trips, in any incarnation, isn't really tied to the concept of accountability. As a heel, he should have deflected the blame entirely onto Rollins and sought vengeance; after all, when Randy Orton RKO'd Steph, he was left a grunting, hilarious mess. Perhaps he's well past the seven year itch at this point, and who can blame him?
And therein lies just one of several issues with the part-timer era, in which logic, as well as full-time talent, goes to die. Triple H shuffled quietly back into his executive role once WrestleMania faded to black; Payback, though appropriately named, was beneath a performer of his stature. It's a B-level PPV. Let the B+ Players perform on it: Trips only rears his head when the stage is big enough to contain himself and his ego. What's a plot hole, anyway?
Besides which, Trips had a fresh 'Mania match to look ahead to. Plural, come to think of it...
